Last Updated: 16th March 2025Welcome to Poitevins Bed & Breakfast. By booking a stay at our property, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for all our guests while protecting the interests of Poitevins Bed & Breakfast.
1. General Information1.1 Poitevins Bed & Breakfast (“the Property”) is a privately owned accommodation located in the South West of France. 1.2 These Terms & Conditions apply to all guests who book a stay at Poitevins, whether directly through our website, via third-party booking platforms, or through email or telephone reservations. 1.3 Poitevins operates as a Bed & Breakfast, offering a table d’hôtes service, where meals are served in the communal kitchen and lounge areas. 1.4 If the entire house is booked by one party, it becomes a self-catering property, and guests will have full access to the kitchen and dining facilities.
2. Booking & Payment2.1 Reservations must be made by an individual who is at least 18 years old. 2.2 A deposit of £100 per room is required to confirm a booking. The remaining balance must be paid at least 1 month before arrival. 2.3 For bookings made within 1 month of the check-in date, full payment is required at the time of booking. 2.4 Payment can be made by bank transfer, credit/debit card, or other approved methods specified on our website.
3. Cancellation & Refund Policy3.1 If a guest needs to cancel a booking, the following refund terms apply:

10. Compliance with French LawsPoitevins operates in full compliance with French hospitality regulations governing Chambres d’Hôtes. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the French courts.

- More than 30 days before check-in: Full refund of the deposit.
- 15 to 30 days before check-in: 50% of the total amount is refunded.
- Less than 14 days before check-in: No refund is provided.

5. Guest Responsibilities & House Rules5.1 Respect for Property & Other Guests
- Respect fellow guests and neighbours – Poitevins is a tranquil retreat, and guests are expected to be mindful of others.
- A quiet policy is in place after 11:00 PM to maintain a peaceful environment.
- The property is non-smoking indoors. Smoking is allowed only in designated outdoor areas.
- Guests staying under the Bed & Breakfast option have access to a shared lounge, communal kitchen, and fridge for personal food storage.
- If the entire house is booked by one party, guests have full self-catering access.
- No hot food preparation is allowed in guest rooms.
- The overground pool is seasonal and available for guest use.
- 🚨 Guests must bring their own beach towels for the pool and sunbeds. Indoor towels provided in the rooms are not for outdoor use.
- Use of the pool is at guests’ own risk. Children must be supervised at all times.
- The BBQ area is available for guests on the main terrace upon request.
- Guests are responsible for any damages or breakages caused during their stay.
- Minor breakages (e.g., glassware) should be reported, but will not be charged.
- Significant damages (e.g., broken furniture, stained mattresses, damage to communal areas) must be paid for in full before check-out.
- If extensive damage results in lost revenue for Poitevins, the guest may be charged for the loss of future bookings.
6. Loan Car Policy (For Bordeaux & Duras Rooms Only)6.1 A vehicle is included for guests booking the Bordeaux or Duras rooms under the following conditions:
- The driver must be at least 30 years old.
- The driver must have no points or endorsements and must not have any driving convictions.
- Guests must sign a loan agreement before using the vehicle.
- Fuel is not included – guests must return the car with the same fuel level as at check-in.
- Any traffic fines, parking tickets, or toll fees incurred during the stay are the guest’s responsibility.
- If a guest damages the car, they are liable for the insurance excess (amount specified in the agreement).
- The loan vehicle is intended to support and promote the local community, allowing guests to explore within a 40km radius of Poitevins.
- If guests wish to travel further than 40km, they must request permission in advance. Special agreements may be granted, and additional costs may apply.
7. Pet Policy7.1 We welcome well-behaved dogs at Poitevins under the following conditions:
- Guests must inform us in advance if they plan to bring a dog.
- Dogs must be vaccinated before traveling to Poitevins.
- We can arrange a local vet appointment for guests who need worming treatment for their pet’s return journey.
8. Liability & Insurance8.1 Poitevins accepts no liability for:
- Personal injuries unless caused by proven negligence.
- Loss or damage to personal belongings. Guests are responsible for securing their valuables.
- Unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, power cuts, or natural disasters.
